The Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District will offer the Youth Learn to Ski and Snowboard Programs through the cooperation of Big Bear Mountain Resorts, who will once again generously donate the use of Snow Summit Ski & Board Resort.

SESSION I – Skiing – Grades (1-12) Beginners thru Advanced.
January 5th, 6th, 7th, 8th & 9th at Snow Summit.
Class Times: 8:30am to 10:30am –
1st & 2nd grade. Never skied, Beginners & Experienced Kinders.
  11:00am to 1:00pm –
3rd & 4th grade. Never skied, Beginners & Intermediate.
  2:00pm to 4:00pm –
5th to High School. Never skied, Beginners, Intermediate & Advanced.

SESSION II – Snowboarding – 7th through 12th grades of all abilities.
January 12th, 13th, 14th, 15th & 16th at Snow Summit.
Class Times: 3:00pm to 4:30pm.

SESSION III – Snowboarding – Grades (4-6) & Kinder to 3rd Grade (with previous experience)
January 23rd, 25th, 30th & February 6th, 8th at Snow Summit.
Class Times: Friday evenings 4:00pm to 6:00pm & Sunday afternoons 2:00pm to 4:00pm.
(Kinder thru 3rd grade snowboarders must be willing to demonstrate coordination.)
(Qualification date is set for Friday, January 16th at 6.00pm.)

ADULT AND SENIOR CITIZEN SKI / BOARD LESSONS: (Choice of days)
Wednesdays, February 4th and 11th from 2:00-4:00pm at Snow Summit or
Sundays, February 8th and 15th from 2:00–4:00pm at Snow Summit.

            Exciting youth basketball action is around the corner through the Big Bear Youth Hoops League which begins in early January. Come join Big Bear’s most fun & exciting activity and be part of the over 300 players experiencing a fun, fair, enriching experience. League rules stipulate that each child plays one half of every game. Registration period: October 2nd to December 12th at the Recreation Office in Meadow Park.
      The League is open to boys and girls age 4 years through 14 at a fee of $65 per player which includes a uniform each player gets to keep, awards, and facility use fees. Discounts are available for additional children in the same family.
      Most games are played on Saturdays between January 7th and March 3rd at Big Bear High School, Middle School, and Meadow Park Gym. Practices are held once per week during the evening. Leagues are broken down as follows: Pee Wee One (4-5 year olds coed), Pee Wee Two (6-7 year olds coed) under 10 year olds separate boys and girls, under 12 year olds separate boys and girls, 14 year olds under separate boys and girls.
